Carbon and sulfur are important to determine as carbon is the main alloying element in cast iron at levels greater than 2%, and sulfur is a contaminant that will prevent the formation of graphite, making the case iron harder. Maintaining and monitoring these levels is essential for cast iron quality and our CS744 can simultaneously detect carbon and sulfur.
