Carbon and sulfur 's state in steel
From :CS Ceramic Co.,Ltd
Carbon and sulfur exist in steel in compound and free state. Compound carbon mainly exists in the form of iron carbon compound and alloying element carbon compound, such as Fe3C, Mn3C, Cr3C2, WC,VC,Mo2C,and Tic, etc. Iron carbon compound such as Fe3C and be dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid which contains oxidizer; while alloying element carbon compound is rarely dissolved in acids, which usually crystallizes and forms carbon in order to promote its dissolution and increase dissolution.
Generally, the content of ordinary steel in ordinary steel is not greater than 0.050%, in tool steel is not greater than 0.045% and the sulfur content in fine steel is not greater than 0.020%. |
